The Solothurn Film Festival, in collaboration with mx3 and the FONDATION SUISA, is looking for the best Swiss video clip of the year.
From all the entries, the «Best Swiss Video Clip» selection committee chose 16 works covering a wide range of musical genres for the 60th Solothurn Film Festival. The Jury Award and the Audience Award were presented on 25 January 2025 as part of the ‘Notte delle Visoni’ at the Solothurn Film Festival. The two prizes, the Jury Award and the Audience Award, each worth CHF 5,000, are sponsored by FONDATION SUISA.
JURY AWARD

Of the 16 clips shortlisted, the selection committee attributed the Jury Award «Best Swiss Video Clip» 2025 to «WATCH ME» by CAMILLA SPARKSSS.
Praise from the jury
Camilla Sparksss’ music video «Watch Me» combines static and dynamic elements to take us on a dreamlike, surreal journey, inspired by Edward Hopper’s painting «Morning Sun» (1952). «Watch Me» questions the gaze between subject and object, and plays on the slowness of certain elements such as the interplay of shadows and glances to invite us to intentionally slow down and reflect. Image and sound are on an equal footing and merge into each other, the visual concept being underpinned by the expressiveness of the song. The jury was impressed by the way Camilla Sparkss uses limited resources to create complex, striking images that encourage introspection.
AUDIENCE AWARD

In the online public vote, Superdark’s «Opposite Thumb» video, directed by ALEXANDER WITZIG, beat out 15 other clips to win the «Best Swiss Video Clip» 2025 Public Award.
Opposite Thumb is Superdark’s new track, about the relentless onslaught of advice on ‘how to improve your life’. Alexander Witzig from Zurich, a member of the band Superdark, directed the video clip.
