Vaud rapper Tom D. receives the 2025 «Demo of the Year» award for emerging artists
The 27th edition of the m4music pop festival, organised by Migros Culture Percentage, was held successfully on 28 and 29 March. More than 40 artists performed on five stages around Zurich’s Schiffbau, providing a platform for talented emerging artists. It was an opportunity to showcase Switzerland’s vibrant new musical talent. The most promising tracks were recognised in the categories Pop, Rock, Lyrics & Beats, Electro and Out of Genre.
And the Winners are…
DEMO OF THE YEAR 2025
The main prize, «Demo of the Year 2025», was awarded to French-speaking Swiss rapper Tom D.
With his track «pour toi», TOM D. not only received the FONDATION SUISA Award in the Lyrics & Beats category, but also the main prize, «Demo of the Year», worth CHF 5,000.
The jury is convinced that this award will mark a decisive step in the young artist’s career: ‘The «Demo of the Year 2025» award is given to a rap production that is both innovative and creative – a sincere track that strikes a chord. «Pour toi» skilfully juggles subtle rhythmic elements between vocals, beat, toy piano and electronic textures’.
FONDATION SUISA AWARDS 2025
The FONDATION SUISA Awards 2025, worth CHF 3,000 each, also recognised five bands in the following categories:
- Categorie Pop ⎪ LAUREL BLOOM (Bâle) with «Deniable»
- Categorie Rock ⎪ ECKHART (Vevey) with «Blasted Mirrors»
- Categorie Electronic ⎪ ELINA (Carouge) with «Wet dreams only»
- Categorie Lyrics & Beats ⎪ TOM D. (Chailly) with «pour toi»
- Categorie Out of Genre ⎪ POLARBÆREN (Zurich) with «gletschertrack»
