Vom Regen, der sich manchmal auch horizontal über A Coruña ergoss, liessen sich die 2’750 internationalen Fachleute die Laune nicht verderben. Künstler, Agentinnen, Veranstalter, Labels, Journalistinnen und mehr aus der weltweiten Musikbranche knüpften vom 25. bis 29. Oktober ihre Kontakte an den Messeständen im Palexco Convention Centre am Hafen der nordspanischen Küstenstadt.
Einer der auffälligsten Stände trug – schwarz auf gelb – den Namen SWISS MUSIC und beherbergte nicht weniger als 42 Schweizer Fachleute, so viele wie noch nie. Auch im offiziellen Showcase-Programm war die Schweiz vertreten: Freitagnacht brachte Produzent und DJ Pekodjinn aus Genf die «WOMEXicans» zum Tanzen und sicherte sich viel internationale Aufmerksamkeit.
Die Jubiläumsausgabe der Worldwide Music Expo findet vom 23.-27. Oktober 2024 in Manchester (UK) statt.
